WHAT DOES ANKLE LIGAMENTS INJURY MEAN?

The ligaments are torn in case of twisting the ankle. A sprained ankle ligaments is a very common injury for kids and teens. There are 3 main ligaments in ankle joint:

anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL)
posterior talofibular ligament (PTFL)
calcaneofibular ligament (CFL)

When your child falls or places the foot badly and exceed the normal range of motion, the ankle strain or sprain is observed. Ligaments and joint capsule are excessive stretched and torn sometimes. The child feels pain, the ankle is swollen and motion is strongly limited. If this ijury occurs, there’s no time to waste! Your doctor may prescribe traditional plaster cast or low-profile, anatomic-shaped laced ankle brace AM-OSS-03.

WHAT IS THE PAEDIATRIC LACE-UP PROTECTIVE ANKLE SUPPORT FOR KIDS AM-OSS-03?

Our ankle brace for kids AM-OSS-03 is made of the high quality and innovative material ActivSpace.

ActivSpace™ is a spacer, polyamide 3D lamination with high skin ventilation. It is very lightweight, consisted of 2 layers. Between them, we use polyamide braids with 4 mm width. ActivSpace™ is not elastic what improves stabilization. Inside the lamination, between 2 layers, the air flows freely, maintaining minimal water and moisture absorption. Waterproof material.

The second used material is ProFit™.

ProFit™ is a double-layer fabric that is elastic in all directions and fits to limb precisely. The external side is made of spandex providing excellent compression and absorbs muscle shocks in physical activity. The internal side consists of microfibre, cotton and elastane what makes it skin-friendly, breathable and provides velvet softness. ProFit™ is friendly and neutral for the skin and has Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate.

The brace is equipped with lateral anatomic supports, made of very light plastic. Additionally, our ankle brace AM-OSS-03 consists of figure 8 straps, which offers an even greater level of support, by further limiting the range of motion of the ankle. At the ends of the straps we added special finger handles which allow the child attach the strap easily and adjust required level of joint compression.

Our protective kids ankle brace AM-OSS-03 is equipped with quick lace up system with lacing hooks. This solution provides the child fast and easy application by its own and allows to adjust required level of compression. At the top of the brace, we used circumferential strap which place the brace on the leg firmly. Furthermore, because of this special strap, our brace provides stabilization of not only the lower ankle joint (talotarsal articulation), but also of the upper ankle joint (tibiotarsal articulation). It’s very important if you’re child suffers from ankle sprain, strain, dislocation or chronic instability.
